All positions serve as members of the Central Committee and regular participation in monthly Central Committee meetings is required.

  • Chair: The Chair is essentially the chief organizer and executive officer of all SD50 DFL’s activities. The Chair is the main contact with the Senate District’s state and local elected officeholders and candidates as well as the State DFL staff.

  • Vice Chair: The Vice Chair aids the Chair and fulfills the Chair’s duties in the absence of the Chair. The Vice Chair works with the Chair to help guide policy and decision-making and may lead Senate District standing committees or fundraising and events management.

  • Outreach Officer: The Outreach Officer is highly involved in relationship building. Responsibilities include directing precinct chairs’ activities for voter registration drives, get-out-the-vote efforts, volunteer recruitment, and local government, educational, and community events participation.

  • Secretary: The Secretary is responsible for maintaining rosters, maintaining meeting minutes, and publishing meeting notices. The Secretary also helps guide policy and decision-making.

  • Treasurer: The Treasurer manages the funds and financial transaction records. The Treasurer manages Political Contribution Refund (PCR) records and manages timely state reports as required by the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board. The Treasurer helps guide policy and decision-making and is involved in all fundraising efforts.

  • Communications Officer: The Communications Officer is responsible for the development and execution of the communication strategy that supports our activities. This includes writing, editing, and publishing newsletters, website content, and social media content. The Communications officer helps guide policy and decision-making.

  • Data and Technology Officer: The Data and Technology Officer manages the website and all online presence for the Senate District. In addition, the Data and Technology Officer provides technical support for meetings, events, and internal technical infrastructure.

  • Director: Directors serve as at-large voting members of the Central Committee and provide leadership as committed members of one of the standing committees, e.g., Fundraising and Events, Communications, and Outreach & Inclusion. Directors act as ambassadors for our endorsed candidates and elected officeholders via social media, door knocks, phone banks, letters to the editor, and other activities.
